The Ambassadors from Spain and Georgia will be attending. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Tumanishvili Theatre from Tbilisi will present O’Neill’s Long Days Journey Into Night performed for the first time in the Georgian language.  It will also be the first time supertitles will be used in St Michael’s Theatre.\nOf course the Festival will also include our Foundation production of Ah\, Wilderness! as well as a new Wexford play\, The Unkillable Irishman\, a true story set in prohibition era New York.\nA production from Caceres\, Span\, about Lucia Joyce will incorporate modern dance and AV elements to tell the story of the daughter of James Joyce.\nFinally\, there will be a special music evening featuring traditional musicians from Ireland\, Spain\, and Portugal\, marking a special celebration of Ireland’s EU Presidency.\n\n\n\n\nPlease consider joining us on this annual trip to Eugene O’Neill’s homeland!\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Book Launch with Dassia Posner \nSat.\, Oct. 17\, 3–5pm \nMuseum of the San Ramon Valley map it \n  \nFormer Artist in Residence and Northwestern University Professor Dassia Posner comes to Danville to discuss her new book\, The Actor’s Revolution: Art and Politics at the Moscow Kamerny Theatre. Dassia worked on this book during her time as an AIR fellow at Tao House and relied on rare Russian documents found in the Foundation’s library archives. Now she returns to present the fruits of her labor and share her research process\, including how she reconstructed the Kamerny Theatre’s forgotten production of O’Neill’s Desire Under the Elms\, which the playwright and his wife saw and loved. Dassia and theatre scholar Anna Muza\, Senior Lecturer Emerita at University of California\, Berkeley\, will then discuss the book\, followed by a Q&A with the audience. \n  \nPlease join us for an afternoon with this award-winning writer and scholar.
