Details will be added soon on an optional 3-day package to Dublin prior to the New Ross dates, including Dublin Theatre Festival plays in the Abbey and Gate Theatres on Mon, Oct 12 and Tue, Oct 13.
This year features plays from Ireland, the US, Georgia, and Spain. The Ambassadors from Spain and Georgia will be attending.
- The Tumanishvili Theatre from Tbilisi will present O’Neill’s Long Days Journey Into Night performed for the first time in the Georgian language. It will also be the first time supertitles will be used in St Michael’s Theatre .
- A production from Caceres, Span, about Lucia Joyce will incorporate modern dance and AV elements to tell the story of the daughter of James Joyce.
- Of course the Festival will also include our Foundation production of Ah, Wilderness! as well as a new Wexford play, The Unkillable Irishman, a true story set in prohibition era New York.
- Finally, there will be a special music evening featuring traditional musicians from Ireland, Spain, and Portugal, marking a special celebration of Ireland’s EU Presidency.
